Ike & Stella Dog Collar - Indigo Dyed

Introducing Ike & Stella, our stunning new cat and dog collar range, all the way from L.A! We are the only Australian store stocking this exclusive product.

This beautiful, completely handmade, adjustable dog collar is made from top quality tan leather. It features a handmade sleeve created with dyed indigo dotted textile. No two Ike and Stella collars are ever the same.

The sleeve can be replaced if required, without replacing the leather collar.

These collars are designed and made by Jennifer Black, the owner of Ike, a "potcake" (feral) dog rescued from the Bahamas. The term "potcake" comes from their mythical method of survival - the crusted "cake" leftover in pots that Bahamians would leave out after they finished cooking their staple dish, peas and rice.  While it may have been true at some point, today potcakes are more likely to survive off of whatever they find in the garbage, or if they're lucky enough to live by an empty beach, fish and crabs that they catch themselves. Their lives are hard and often very short.

In Christmas 2012, Jennifer brought home Ike and Stella from the Bahamas.  Stella found herself a happy family in Denver, whereas Ike became a part of Jennifer's family.

For every collar sold by Minipet, $1USD goes to the spay/neuter and homing of "potcakes" (feral dogs) in the Bahamas.

XS - Collar is 5/8" in width and 9" / 11" in length

S - Collar is 3/4" in width and 11 / 14"" in length

**Length corresponds to the length around your dog's neck, not the entire collar length.**

Sizing Chart

Measure for a Collar

To measure for a collar or bandana, you need to measure your dog or cats neck. (Just like measuring for a shirt.) Place a tape measure around their neck allowing two fingers to slip under the tape for comfort.

How to get the correct harness size

You need to measure the chest behind the front legs to get the sizing. Place a tape measure behind the front legs around the chest.  Use that measurement to select the size from the shopping cart. For example:  If your dogs chest is 49cm then he needs the medium in the soft harness.

How do I measure for dog clothing?

To measure for dog clothing, measure the length of your dog's back, neck and chest (if applicable) and take note of the measurement. If your dog is in between sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller size, otherwise, it may be too baggy.  As each of our design collections has different measurements, be sure to read the specific sizing specifications of each product carefully.
